Fallout New Vegas: All You Need to Know About the DLCs
Fallout New Vegas is a post-apocalyptic role-playing game developed by Obsidian Entertainment and published by Bethesda Softworks in 2010. The game is set in a world ravaged by nuclear war, where you play as a courier who gets shot in the head and left for dead. As you explore the Mojave Wasteland, you will encounter various factions, characters, and quests that will shape your destiny.
But the game does not end there. Fallout New Vegas also offers four pieces of downloadable content (DLC) that expand on the universe and its story. Each DLC adds a new location, storyline, enemies, items, and challenges to the game. You can access them by finding specific map markers in the Mojave Wasteland that will transport you to the DLC worldspaces. Here is a brief overview of each DLC and what they offer:
Dead Money: As the victim of a raw deal, you must work alongside three other captured wastelanders to recover the legendary treasure of the Sierra Madre Casino. In Dead Money, your life hangs in the balance as you face new terrain, foes, and choices. It is up to you how you play your cards in the quest to survive. Dead Money is recommended for level 20+ players and can be accessed by finding the Abandoned Brotherhood of Steel bunker in the east of the map.
Honest Hearts: Honest Hearts takes you on an expedition to the unspoiled wilderness of Utahâs Zion National Park. Things go horribly wrong when your caravan is ambushed by a tribal raiding band. As you try to find a way back to the Mojave, you become embroiled in a war between tribes and a conflict between a New Canaanite missionary and the mysterious Burned Man. Honest Hearts is recommended for level 10+ players and can be accessed by finding the Northern passage in the north of the map.
Old World Blues: Old World Blues transports you to the Big MT research crater, where a group of pre-war scientists are experimenting on everything from robots to plants to humans. You will discover how some of the Mojaveâs mutated monsters came to be, and how your own brain was stolen by them. Old World Blues is recommended for level 15+ players and can be accessed by finding the Mojave Drive-in in the south of the map.
Lonesome Road: Lonesome Road brings you face to face with the original courier who refused to deliver the Platinum Chip at the start of Fallout New Vegas. He will contact you and challenge you to follow him through the Divide, a harsh and deadly landscape torn apart by earthquakes and storms. Along the way, you will learn more about your own past and the history of the Mojave. Lonesome Road is recommended for level 25+ players and can be accessed by finding the Canyon wreckage in the west of the map.
In addition to these four story DLCs, Fallout New Vegas also offers two item packs that add new weapons, armor, ammo types, recipes, and more to the game. These are Courierâs Stash, which contains all the pre-order bonus items from different retailers, and Gun Runnersâ Arsenal, which features new unique weapons and mods from the famous weapons manufacturer.
If you want to experience Fallout New Vegas in its full glory, you should definitely check out these DLCs. They will add hours of gameplay, fun, and challenge to your adventure in the Mojave Wasteland. ec8f644aee
