Big Tymers: The Duo That Got That Work
Big Tymers were an American hip hop duo consisting of Mannie Fresh and Birdman, who were also co-founders of Cash Money Records. They released five studio albums between 1998 and 2003, but their most successful one was I Got That Work, which came out in 2000 and went platinum in the same year.
I Got That Work was originally scheduled for a February 8, 2000 release, but it was ultimately released on May 16, 2000, by Universal Records and Baby's Cash Money Records. The album featured the singles \"Get Your Roll On\" and \"#1 Stunna\", which were both popular on radio and TV. The album also featured guest appearances from other Cash Money artists such as Lil Wayne, Juvenile, B.G. and Turk.
The album received mostly positive reviews from critics, who praised Mannie Fresh's production and Big Tymers' charisma and humor. The album debuted at number three on the Billboard 200 chart, selling 187,000 copies in its first week. It also topped the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart for four weeks. The album was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) on September 15, 2000, for selling over one million copies in the US.
I Got That Work is considered to be one of the best albums of the southern hip hop genre, and one of the most influential albums of the early 2000s. The album showcased Big Tymers' lavish lifestyle and swagger, which inspired many other rappers to emulate them. The album also helped establish Cash Money Records as one of the dominant labels in the hip hop industry at the time.

After the success of I Got That Work, Big Tymers continued to release more albums and singles, such as Hood Rich in 2002 and Big Money Heavyweight in 2003. They also collaborated with other artists such as R. Kelly, Ludacris, T.I., Lil Jon and Nelly. However, their popularity began to decline as Cash Money Records faced internal conflicts and lawsuits from some of its former artists.
In 2004, Mannie Fresh left Cash Money Records due to financial disputes with Birdman. He also announced that he was no longer part of Big Tymers, effectively ending the duo. He went on to pursue a solo career and work with other labels and artists, such as Def Jam and Kanye West. Birdman also focused on his solo career and his role as the CEO of Cash Money Records. He also formed a new duo with Lil Wayne called Like Father, Like Son.
Despite their breakup, Big Tymers are still regarded as one of the most influential and successful hip hop duos of all time. They have sold over five million albums in the US and have received several awards and nominations, such as BET Awards, Billboard Music Awards and Grammy Awards. They have also influenced many other hip hop artists and groups, such as Drake, Migos, Young Thug and Rich Gang. aa16f39245
